  25. Good point.  Another good point: CBM hasn't released 3.0 yet to the rest of us,
  26. so it's questionable whether pirating 3.0 makes them lose any profits.  If he
  27. pirates 3.0 somehow, as long as he buys it when CBM makes it available, they
  28. haven't lost anything.

  41. There is certainly a better way than *that*!  What you need to do is to set ups
  42. only those files required to boot on two partitions, one for booting 2.x and
  43. one for 1.3.  Next, put the rest of those files on a third partition (thereby
  44. making them accessible to either 1.3 or 2.x).  Then modify your startup-sequence
  45. and/or user-startup on each boot partition to look for the appropriate files on
  46. the third partition.  If some files must be on each, you can use "assign add"
  47. under 2.x or a PD utility called "addassign" under 1.3, each of which allows
  48. an assignment to be made to more than one directory, so that FONTS: might look
  49. first to sys:fonts, but also to shared:fonts.

  54. Getting rid of it is an excellent idea, really - there isn't much recently
  55. developed software that doesn't run under 2.x and above.  People have finally
  56. learned to work within the system, improving not only the look and feel of
  57. their software, but its longevity as well!
