- I bet c.s.a.audio would only end up with four articles per week under that
- scheme. Most of the talk in c.s.a.audio seems to be about MODs and other
- such song formats, but that still doesn't justify splitting the group.
- Besides, what about people who have MIDI interfaces and use sequencers and other
- tools to create music? Should they post to c.s.a.music and end up having to
- search for messages among hundreds of messages saying "Where can I find the
- latest MODs?"
-
- By the way, it would be a very bad idea to send out a control message to
- newgroup comp.sys.amiga.music. The usual procedure to create newsgroups is to
- create an official proposal posted to news.announce.newsgroups, discuss it for
- a period of time, and then bring it up for a vote. If the vote passes (which
- means that it receives a 2/3rds majority and 100 more 'yes' votes than 'no'
- votes), then it gets created. If you send out the newgroup message yourself,
- you'll probably get a lot of angry mail from system administrators.
