- In the tech note that describes the changes to upgrade to a rev. 4.5 A2000,
- step 3 says to install RP904, RP905, and RP906 if U205 and U206 are 74HC244s.
- It says not to install the RPs if the ICs are HCT type 244.
-
- I have 74HC244s in my A2000. Can I swap the HC244s for HCT244s instead of
- installing the RPs? I hope that one of the CBM hardware guys can answer this
- one for me. (Apparently none of the local dealers can do motherboard mods.
- I can swap chips, but I'm not good enough to solder on motherboards.)
-
- Another question: could any of the rev 4.0 to rev 4.5 modifications affect
- the SCSI bus on a GVP 030/SCSI board in the CPU slot? I'm having SCSI bus
- problems (unexpected status errors and some properly terminated configurations
- won't even allow the computer to boot.) GVP suggests that I make the rev 4.5
- mods.
-
- Thanks
