- Probably "diphones" which take into account 2 phonemes at a time.
- Peterson, Wang& Silverstein (1958) (jasa v30 739-742) proposed
- using "dyads" - "containing parts of 2 phones with theis mutual
- influence in the middle of the segment" - about 8000 used in
- dictionary. Also Wayne Wickelgren proposed 3 part thingies
- xYz which are called "wickelphones"...
