  14.      Hi there!  It has long been my desire to write an intelligent voice-
  15. recognition system for a PC, not one of these that simply samples whole
  16. words and compares them with their preset patterns, but one that actually
  17. parses the words into syllables and fits them to a definable language
  18. grammar, like a computer language works.
  19.      I would like it to be able to do voice ID as well as respond to words
  20. by anyone.  As far as I know, this product does not currently exist for a PC,
  21. but someone someday will write it, so it might as well be me! :)
  22.      Anyway, I would like info on books or other references which could tell
  23. me about taking an audio sample and making a frequency spectrum analyzer in
  24. the 1-3kHz range, as this would be my first step.
  25.      In addition, I would like to know about any other books or info on
  26. voice/speech recognition in general, as well as what programs currently exist
  27. for the PC.  Thanks for any help!!
