  11. I need help understanding to what extent I can map a UNIX file
  12. system to a VM/CMS system using NFS.

  14. I have an application where I need to map the UNIX news hierarchy,
  15. starting at /usr/spool/news, to a VM/CMS minidisk.  The problem is
  16. that VM/CMS has a flat file system that doesn't understand
  17. subdirectories.

  19. Two questions:  1) does the standard IBM TCP product for VM include
  20. an NFS client?  2) can anyone think of an effective workaround for
  21. the problem I am describing?  I suppose we could read in the news
  22. system's active file, and then proceed to mount each news
  23. subdirectory sequentially for processing.  Since there are hundreds
  24. of subdirectories involved, it seems like this would be a slow
  25. process.  Are there other concerns with this approach, or are there
  26. better solutions?
