- Routers typically let you isolate users because it has the various
- protocol stacks. Much better tools in the bridges would let you do
- the same things. In our applications, we would like to bridge many very
- small remote ISDN lans into a single, or few ethernets at a central
- site. Keeping those users from inadvertantly or maliciously affecting
- other ISDN users by using the wrong IP address is difficult in a purely
- bridged environ. All of the bridge packet mask tools we have seen so
- far are just too simple to work with IP. It is a bit silly to have
- eth-router-isdn-router-eth. Eth-router-isdn-bridge-eth would be much
- better, but none of the vendors I've seen support that either.
