  23. GENERAL 
  24. Parco93  is the continuation of a series of international conferences on 
  25. parallel computing started a decade ago. The focus is on the application 
  26. of all types of parallel computers. The last conference, Parallel Computing 
  27. 91, was held in London. Previous conferences were held in Berlin and Leiden.

  30. AIMS & SCOPE 
  31. The aim of the conference is to give an overview of the state-of-the-art of 
  32. the development, application and future trends in parallel computing. 
  33. The emphasis will be on applications of all types of parallel computers, 
  34. including vector and array processors, distributed systems, data flow machines,
  35. hypercube systems, cellular/systolic architectures, neural nets. 
  36.  
  37. PROGRAMME 
  38. The scientific programme will consist of invited papers, contributed papers 
  39. and posters. Workshops, an industrial session and an exhibition of equipment 
  40. are also planned.

  42. CONTRIBUTIONS 
  43. Contributions are solicited for presentation as papers or posters in any of 
  44. the sections listed below.  Extended abstracts (ca. 600 words) should be 
  45. submitted to the conference office before the due dates. It should be 
  46. indicated whether the contribution is to be presented as a paper or poster 
  47. and in which of the sections listed below it should be included. The 
  48. conference language is English.

  50. Final papers should be ready for the conference. Conference proceedings will
  51. indeed be edited and delivered *after* the conference.

  56. All aspects of the application of parallel computers, including business, 
  57. industrial, scientific and engineering applications.

  59. Section 2: Algorithms 
  60. Algorithms for the solution of numerical and non-numerical problems; for 
  61. graphics, image processing, vizualisation. 
  62.  
  63. Section 3: Software 
  64. Software engineering, programming paradigms, languages and environments.
  65.  
  66. Section 4: Architecture 
  67. Taxonomy, models and architectural trends of parallel processing; general 
  68. architecture concepts, simulation, enabling technologies. 
  69.  
  70. Section 5: Performance 
  71. Performance prediction, benchmarking, measurement and analysis.

  73. DEADLINES 
  74. Extended abstracts:      Closing date 1 February 1993. 
  75. Posters:          Closing date 30 June 1993. 
  76. Final papers:        Closing date during the conference, september 1993.

  80. Authors of will be notified of acceptance by 15 April 1993; the program will 
  81. be prepared in May 1993.

  84. Extended abstracts and/or posters should be submitted in 4 copies to 
  85. the conference office before the respective closing dates.

  88. PROCEEDINGS 
  89. The proceedings of the conference will be publish-ed in English in the 
  90. bookseries Advances in Parallel Computing by Elsevier Science Publishers.
