- hi,
-
- i've got an NEC silentwriter model 95, which does both postscript
- level 2 and pcl 5 (laserjet 3). it comes with an autoswitching driver
- for dos/windows, but nothing for os2. i called NEC and got the codes
- that are required for mode switching, and have been playing around with
- writing an "lpr" program that will autoswitch, but that only works for
- files that i've already got on disk.
-
- so my question is: is it possible to write a program that could be
- attached say, to the laserjet 3 driver, which would intercept any job
- sent to the laserjet 3, then send the codes to switch to laserjet 3
- mode, wait about 15 seconds (for the printer to complete the mode
- switch), then print the file(s), and finally switch back to postscript
- mode? this would be very convenient, and i would imagine there are
- others who could benefit from such a program....
-
- thanks for any help!
