- This is a GREAT idea. Unfortunately I do not have the expertise (yet!!)
- to usefully contribute, but I would be an eager reader. This is a
- perfect opportunity to show the Unix bods that they don't have a monopoly
- on "esprit de corps" ;-)
-
- Doing the initial release in ASCII makes sense (faster to publish, easier
- & more flexible distribution, can read like a magazine etc), but
- in practice I think it would prove to be a sub-optimal general reference
- work; a small investment in ensuring that the "body of knowledge"
- accumulated remains _accessible_ and _useable_ will I'm sure pay off
- a hundredfold in the future. i.e. I'm talking about indexing (yuk!).
-
- One way of organising the sum of knowledge would
- be to take each issue after it is "published", and accumulate all
- of the non-time-sensitive material in a suitably organised INF file.
- While I may not be able to contribute much in terms of content to
- the newsletter, I would be willing to donate my time to produce and
- manage the INF reference work.
