- Download either the EMX/GCC or GCC/2 compilers from ftp-os2.nmsu.edu.
- Note that these are big! EMX/GCC seems to be the more powerful (and
- popular) of the two these days. Note also that to write PM code,
- IBM's devloper's Toolkit/2 will be very useful, if not necessary.
-
- The compilers include the headers and libraries you need for PM code,
- and OS/2 comes with RC.EXE, LINK386.EXE, and the icon editor, but the
- toolkit also gives you the font editor, dialog box editor, IPFC (help
- file compiler), a few other useful utilities, lots of on-line
- documentation, and lots of examples.

-
- DJGPP is an extended DOS port of GCC. The two packages I quoted are
- native 32-bit ports of it. Note that none of these can produce 16-bit
- code, so 16-bit executables (OS/2 1.x and bound-for-DOS code) will not
- be produceable with either of these.
