- Hi,
- We've got got a Token Ring network with 200 computers running either
- ms-dos 5.0 or OS/2 2.x with (Dos ) Lan Requester 3.0 and TCP/IP OS/2 1.2.1.
- Many people under Dos use CUTCP or Winqvtnet with the Clarckson packet
- drivers, and I've found a neat implementation of the POP3 protocol that uses
- these packet drivers and Turbo Vision. We would like to generalize the use
- of TCP/IP and POP for our mail because we can use our Sun's mailer without
- having yet another mail circuit that would only work on the PCs.We've even
- found a POP implementation for Mac.
- Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any implementation of the protocol
- under OS/2 :(. So I'd like to use temporarily the dos apps. My question
- is : Is there any way to get Lan Req 3.0, TCP/IP 1.2.1 and the packet
- drivers work together ? I've vaguely read that Lan Req 3.0 can run a certain
- number of Dos network apps, but of course these are mainly IBM's software
- (those that use netdev.sys for example).
- Can anyone help me by telling me if it is possible or not and, even
- better, if there is a POP3 implemetation under OS/2? Thanks.
