- I have OS/2 2.0 pre-installed on my machine. This is the version with the 32-bit
- graphics engine. I have a 486 33Mhz machine, and a Trident 8900C video card
- installed. I installed the tri32new.zip drivers on my machine with no
- problems following the advice in the readme file included. Although the windowed
- scrolling is slow, I really like these 256 color drivers.
-
- My only problem now is that when I am running a DOS program, and use Alt-Esc
- to go back to PM, and then try to re-enter my DOS program, the display is completely
- illegible. I read an article from someone out there that said if you shell out blindly
- and run SVGA ON, the display comes back. This is true, but if you are running something
- that cannot shell out, you're SOL. This is very annoying to deal with, as I am running a
- fax modem in a DOS box in the background, so flipping out every couple of minutes, fixing
- the display, viewing the fax, coming back in .... ARRRGGGGHHHH!
-
- Anybody heard anything about a fix for this? There were all kinds of notes about fixes
- for the same kind of problem for the previous Trident drivers (16 bit, I guess) I have
- played with SVGA ON in just about every way (from real DOS boot, with the TVGACRTC fix,
- blah blah blah...) I'm going nuts (moreso than usual, anyways)
-
- If anybody can help, please do. I'm almost ready to go back to Wind... well, maybe not
- that desparate! Anyways, thanks for any help...
