  18.     One solution is to change the TCPSTART.CMD file so that those daemons that 
  19. can run detached are started with DETACH rather than START.  For instance,
  20. PORTMAPPER and SENDMAIL run just fine detached, and detached apps don't show
  21. up in the task list.  If they aren't in the task list, OS/2 doesn't ask you if 
  22. you want to shut them down when you do a shutdown.  It can make the whole
  23. thing alot cleaner during boot, too, since you don't have to watch them open
  24. and then minimize the windows manually.

  26.     Note: some of the daemons don't work right when detached... TELNETD and
  27. FTPD come to mind.
