- I'm new to the OS/2 newsgroups (and to OS/2), and I see that I can
- FTP the beta release of 2.1 now. I'd love to do this, but I have a
- couple of questions before I attempt such a thing:
-
- 1) I'm running a 486/33 ISA, AMI BIOS, 8MB 60ns RAM, WD 2200 212MB,
- with a JUMBO 250 tape drive piggybacked on my floppy controller.
- If I install 2.1 beta, could I still use my JUMBO without buying
- new software? Would it require using FAT instead of HPFS?
-
- 2) I've seen posts that indicate a new 2.1 beta will be released in
- February. Would I be well advised to wait until then and install
- the new beta, or could I install the current release and just
- install patches for the February release?
-
- Thanks in advance -- James
