  10. In cases where one gets an error-trap screen or even Ctl-Alt-Del would not
  11. work there might still be a way to shut down the file-system properly
  12. before using the red-button: Press Ctl-Alt-NumLock-NumLock. You would get
  13. a prompt to insert dump-disks and the keyboard would be read again. At this
  14. point press Ctl-Alt-Del and the buffers should be written back to disk and
  15. on you next boot-up no auto-Chkdsk will be executed, as the file system
  16. was shut down cleanly. This procedure would not work on the present
  17. 2.1beta though.
