  15. Have just installed 2.0 on my 386SX-20mHz clone.  Am having some 
  16. (minor?) problems, which I need help with.  After several frustrating 
  17. days, I am going outside....

  19. 1. I have VPPROF (DOS/GEM version), which is set to use a 1024x768 
  20. driver supplied with my ATIVGAWonder+ card (512K).  Needless to say, a 
  21. DOS type video driver will not work, and I get lots of herringbone 
  22. fuzz on screen if I try to start VPPROF.  How do I change the driver 
  23. to one that works, in the VPPROF.BAT file?

  25. 2. My printer (HP LJ III w/ 2meg of RAM) works fine from DOS 5.0 and 
  26. from Windows 3.1, but every time I try to send something to it in OS/2 
  27. I get 'Error: Printer not responding!' as a message.  I've increased 
  28. the timeout time, tried the HP IIP and IIP Plus drivers, as well as 
  29. the HP III driver.  I've tried it with the Spooler on and off, as 
  30. well. This is after install of both the OS/2 disks and the Service 
  31. Pack disks. Does anyone have any idea of what I can try next?

  33.     a. Does OS/2 require a different printer cable??? (I hope not)

  35.     b. Do any of the HP printer drivers supplied with OS/2 work?

  37. 3. The install picks up drive A (3.5") but not drive B (5.25") for an 
  38. ICON on the desktop.  Is this standard?

  42. BIOS: AMI ENSX-1185-040990-K8 - in other words, dated April 9, 1990

  44. ATI VGAWonder+ BIOS: V1M-1.03/70

  46. 6 meg of 70ns RAM

  48. 240 meg of IDE hard drive space in 4 55-65 meg partitions on two 
  49. drives.

  51. OS/2 and DOS and Windows are all on Drive C, while the OS/2 
  52. Swapper.DAT file is on drive F:

  54. MicroSoft InPort mouse (works fine, BTW)
  55.  
  56. USR Dual Standard with V32bis (also seems to work fine, if I don't use 
  57. the silly comm program that came with OS/2 (2400 Baud - Yeesh!)

  59. MAG monitor that will NOT work in 800x600 mode with this video card. 
  60. Choices are 640x480x256 colours and 1024x768x16 colours... DO NOT 
  61. suggest a 800x600 driver, PLEASE.
