- I noticed the same thing on a system, that had Win3.1 installed. On my own
- system, everything worked fine, I did not have to rename/copy OS2GDI. My
- "theory" on this problem is as follows:
- If the install procedure of OS/2 detects an existing win 3.1 (which it may
- migrate), it sets up winos2 in a way, so that it calls os2gdi. This would
- avoid calling the original windoze gdi.exe accidently, if someone changed
- say the path argument. On a system w'out windows this would not be necc.
- It certainly is only a "theory" and a pretty weird one, but why else would
- the beta try to call os2gdi on one and gdi.exe on the other maschine?
- Both systems were installed from the same disks.

- Any comments??
