  12. Hi!
  13. I down-loaded OS2 2.1 beta from two servers
  14. (ftp.uni-erlangen.de and ftp.urz.uni-heidelberg.de)
  15. and wrote the disk images via 'dd if=disk??.dsk of=/dev/fd0'
  16.  
  17. the disks look OK (they have a DOS file system and I
  18. can read and write files to then, even chkdsk /f is happy...)
  19. but when I try to install it I wont get further than disk1.
  20. I can boot from disk0, and at that deep blue IBM screen
  21. I insert disk1 as I'm asked to. Then the black screen
  22. with those four os2-logos appears and a 
  23. message 'loading please wait' . After some floppy
  24. activity the logos go away and only the 'Loading,
  25. please wait' is in the upper third of the screen.
  26. Shortly after that the machine stops with the following
  27. error:
  28. The system detected an internal processing
  29. error at location ##0160:fff60967 - 000d:9967

  34. The system is stopped. Record the location number
  35. of the error and contact your service representative

  37. After that only a cold reboot brings the machine
  38. back to life.
  39. my setup is: 486DX/50,128K Cache, 16MB, ET4000 1MB,
  40. Maxtor 210MB AT-bus, Logitech serial Mouse

  42. The very same thing happened afterwards, when I
  43. wrote the disks with loaddskf.exe on a DOS system
  44.  
  45. Could some nice soul help me? what did I wrong?
