- Hi!
- I down-loaded OS2 2.1 beta from two servers
- (ftp.uni-erlangen.de and ftp.urz.uni-heidelberg.de)
- and wrote the disk images via 'dd if=disk??.dsk of=/dev/fd0'
-
- the disks look OK (they have a DOS file system and I
- can read and write files to then, even chkdsk /f is happy...)
- but when I try to install it I wont get further than disk1.
- I can boot from disk0, and at that deep blue IBM screen
- I insert disk1 as I'm asked to. Then the black screen
- with those four os2-logos appears and a
- message 'loading please wait' . After some floppy
- activity the logos go away and only the 'Loading,
- please wait' is in the upper third of the screen.
- Shortly after that the machine stops with the following
- error:
- The system detected an internal processing
- error at location ##0160:fff60967 - 000d:9967
- 60000, 9084
-
- 048600b4
- Internal revision 6.479, 92/12/09
- The system is stopped. Record the location number
- of the error and contact your service representative
-
- After that only a cold reboot brings the machine
- back to life.
- my setup is: 486DX/50,128K Cache, 16MB, ET4000 1MB,
- Maxtor 210MB AT-bus, Logitech serial Mouse
-
- The very same thing happened afterwards, when I
- wrote the disks with loaddskf.exe on a DOS system
-
- Could some nice soul help me? what did I wrong?
-
- Yours
- Alexander
