- Hello:
-
- Well, after my last posting about experiencing a severe system crash
- using Ray Gwinn's SIO driver (version 0.31, I believe) somebody told
- me that 0.34 is out and suggested I give it a try.
-
- The result?
-
- The system detected an internal processing
- error at location ##0160:fffa3bb4 - 000d:00049bb4.
- 60000, 7016
-
- 038600d1
- Internal revision 6.307, 92/03/01
-
- The system is stopped. Record the location number
- of the error and contact your service representative.

- So, in essense, nothing has changed from the last time. Grrr -- this
- is *really* beginning to piss me off. Of course, this did a number on
- my D: drive that I had to repair with CHKDSK (which means a 10 minute
- boot-up from the ^#$@! floppies!).
-
- This time I'm going to include *all* pertinent information and hopefully
- *somebody* out there can tell me what an idiot I've been and what to
- change to get this to work.
-
- First of all: I am running OS/2 2.0 GA, Syslevel XR02000 (by the way,
- *why* does it take over 10 minutes for the "Syslevel" command to give out
- that info!?)
-
- Next...in my CONFIG.SYS file, the lines that pertain to serial I/O are
- as follows:
-
- DEVICE=C:\OS2\PCLOGIC.SYS SERIAL=COM1
- DEVICE=C:\OS2\MOUSE.SYS TYPE=PCLOGIC$
- rem DEVICE=C:\OS2\COM.SYS
- rem DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VCOM.SYS
- DEVICE=C:\SIO.SYS (1,3F8,4) (COM2:19200,2F8,IRQ3,,F)
- DEVICE=C:\VSIO.SYS
- RUN=C:\OS2\MODE.COM COM2:19200,N,8,1,,TO=OFF,XON=OFF,IDSR=ON, [...]
- ODSR=ON,OCTS=ON,DTR,RTS=HS,BUFFER=ON
-
- I am running Waffle version 1.65 under DOS, I have COM_HOLD turned *on*.
- My Waffle startup program firsts starts up the X00v149a Fossil driver
- (also by Ray Gwinn) with the statement:
-
- C:\FOSSIL\X00 E,DV,FIFO=15,B,PORT1,19200,R=1024,T=512
-
- I hope that somebody out there knows why this is happening and can
- provide a solution! Thanks in advance.
-
- P.S. All this would be completely unnecessary if Tom Dell (the author
- of Waffle) would do a simple port of his UUCICO program over to OS/2!
- We're not asking for the entire program, JUST THE UUCICO PORTION!!!!!!
- He apparently "has his hands full with the DOS and Unix versions" and,
- IMHO, probably doesn't believe OS/2 is being used by more than a dozen
- people. Should you wish to express your anger at him :-), or simply
- give him a subtle suggestion, he can be reached at: dell@vox.darkside.com
