-
- : SIO/VSIO 0.34 comm. driver will solve your problem.
- : I run Fido BBS under OS/2 (DOS window) with ZyXEL 16800 baud, locked at 57600 without any problem.

- Could you please explain what settings you used? I tried these drivers
- with Telix 3.20 (with os2speed running), and found that
-
- 1. Zmodem downloads ran just marginally slower (mostly just as it first
- started - the first few blocks were slower than with COM.SYS).
-
- 2. Zmodem upload speeds dropped from ~1050-1100 cps to ~80 cps.
-
- 3. Telix did not steal as much of the foreground CPU cycles when running
- in the background - a foreground OS/2 program running LOADDSKF seemed
- to run faster than when using COM.SYS.
-
- 4. When the same program (LOADDSKF) was running in the background, it
- ran far slower than with COM.SYS - by a factor of 5 or 10.
-
- I tried running Telix with the original IDLE_SENSITIVITY=100 and
- IDLE_SECONDS=60, and with IDLE_SENSITIVITY=<some small number> and
- IDLE_SECONDS=0. I tried running with COM_DIRECT_ACCESS both ON and OFF.
- Nothing helped.
-
- I was running sio_034 on a 486/33DX, with a NS 16550AFN chip and an ATI
- 9600etc/e V.32/V.42bis modem. I normally get ~1100 cps for for zmodem
- uploads and downloads, with Telix running perfectly happily in the
- background. It does slow down other programs somewhat, though.
-
- Needless to say, I have gone back to COM.SYS, but I would like to hear
- from someone who has it working.
