- All,
-
- After installing OS/2 2.1 beta I discovered the following bugs:
-
- 1. The IBM1FLPY.ADD driver does not allow access to DD floppies.
- Replacing the beta driver with the driver form june 2, 1992 fixed
- this and I have again access to my 720k diskettes.
-
- 2. The OS2LDR program, I guess it is the OS2LDR program, does not
- determine the correct amount of display memory on my video card.
- According to the results from the SVGAHard program (from Joel
- Armengaud) included with the generic 800*600@16 display driver
- I have only 256k instead of 512k on my Trident 9000 card.
-
- The complete results form the program are:
- SVGAHardware.Adaptertype=2 (this is OK)
- SVGAHardware.Chiptype=2 (this is OK)
- SVGAHardware.memoryy=262144 (should be 512k)
-
- This error probably also causes the 800*600 support for the Trident
- 9000 card not to work. I installed the "old" 16 bit drivers for
- 800*600@16 from Trident according to the instruction that came with
- the CSD and I now have 800*600 and seamless.
- INstalling the SVGA display support that came with the beta resulted
- in a system crash.
-
- I hope somebody from IBM reads this so they can fix it before the
- final release.
-
- Thanks,
-
