  10. How many people out there have been unable to run the 2.1 beta because
  11. COUNTRY.SYS is "missing?"  I know that I'm not the only one with this
  12. problem since there is currently a thread on CompuServe about it.

  14. In my case, I installed 2.1 on my second hard drive (Adaptec 1742 SCSI
  15. controller, 2 Maxtor LXT-340S drives).  The failure occurs at boot on
  16. the DEVICE=...COUNTRY.SYS line, where I am informed that the file can't
  17. be found.

  19. A common denominator seems to be using a second SCSI drive, and occurs
  20. on systems which have the first drive on a different type of controller
  21. as well.  Some people run into the problem earlier than I, during
  22. installation.

  24. Was this problem introduced with 2.1, or did it exist in 2.0 as well?
  25. I'm sure I remember postings in a similar vein months ago.
