- How many people out there have been unable to run the 2.1 beta because
- COUNTRY.SYS is "missing?" I know that I'm not the only one with this
- problem since there is currently a thread on CompuServe about it.
-
- In my case, I installed 2.1 on my second hard drive (Adaptec 1742 SCSI
- controller, 2 Maxtor LXT-340S drives). The failure occurs at boot on
- the DEVICE=...COUNTRY.SYS line, where I am informed that the file can't
- be found.
-
- A common denominator seems to be using a second SCSI drive, and occurs
- on systems which have the first drive on a different type of controller
- as well. Some people run into the problem earlier than I, during
- installation.
-
- Was this problem introduced with 2.1, or did it exist in 2.0 as well?
- I'm sure I remember postings in a similar vein months ago.
