- Unfortunately (hopefully 2.1 will solve this) the bugs and other "minor"
- glitches we all live with make this a computer-jock centered operating system.
-
- Average computer users will not be willing to or may not be able to copy with
- these "minor" glitches. When Windows or dos crashed and average computer user
- does a reboot, he's generally back at the dos command line within a minute
- or two (depending on his config/autoexec), or back at windows in another min
- or so. With OS/2, when it reboots, particularly after a crash or unexpected
- shutdown, it takes upwards of 5 to 30 minutes depending on your hard drive
- size and configuration. One time of that happening and your average computer
- user is going to be disoriented.
-
- The average computer user is not going to accept the larger size and more
- complicated nature of OS/2. He/she is used to the way dos boots and win
- loads. This is especially true of users who have never seen anything else
- BUT dos.
-
- [These are just my opinions].
