- I doubt this is what you mean, but how about "Get rid of Ventura."
-
- I've used Ventura since it was released (over 7 years?). I loved it and
- was quite devoted to using it. When I switched to OS/2, I got the PM
- version. It stinks and is not being updated.
-
- So...I finally (a month ago) gave in a started doing everything (not just
- the basic stuff) on DeScribe. It's tough at first - DeScribe requires a
- new way of thinking about publishing - but it has been do-able.
-
- One example of a fantastic difference between DeScribe and Ventura
- (besides being able to load 40 fonts without choking!) is its handling of
- stylesheets (tags in Ventura). They're hierarchical (sp?)! So if I want
- to make an indented quote in the middle of Body Text, I create a
- stylesheet under Body Text and just change the margins and perhaps the
- leading. EVERYTHING ELSE IS INHERITED FROM THE PARENT! (In Ventura one
- can create a new tag based on an existing one but...) So, later, if you
- decide to change the font used for Body Text, all of the styles under
- Body Text that don't define their own font will use the new font too!
- (It's this way for all of the settings, not just the font.)
-
- I strongly encourage switching to DeScribe. Good luck!
