Hi,
I got OS/2 v2.0 within days of it being released in England. Unfortunately
I didn't have a 386 based machine at home and had to borrow a PC from work
to try it out. Unfortunately I had to give the machine back :'-(
Well anyway to cut a long story short, the last time I used OS/2 there
where no CSD's about. Now there seems to be HUGE numbers of CSD's bug
fixes etc and of course a new Beta. My local IBM dealer has offered the
CSD's at 30 pounds (supposedly to cover downloading the disk images and
the cost of disks) which I feel is a bit excessive for what are bug fixes.
I have two questions.
First could someone provide me with a list of CSD's and individual patches
that should be placed on OS/2 2.0 GA to produce the most featured, bug
free system. Windows 3.1, CDROM and ESDI controller support would be usefull
I suspect that my display card will be an ET4000. In short I want something
like:-
Fit CSDxxxxx
add Fixbug1.0
etc.
Second question is on the Beta. Someone said that it was available on CDROM,
and as I am going to get a ROM drive I was wondering where this CD was available from. If I load the Beta what am I letting myself in for??? Is the improvement worth the hassles of any new bugs?????
Money permitting OS/2 will return to my life next month when I finally
finish my new machine. Thanks for your help.
Fletch
