- I'm using OS/2 2.0 GA+SP and the printer set up worked OK for me.
- Otherwise I think that WP 5.2 fW isn't really optimized for OS/2:it
- eats up 40 % of the system resources (leaving only 38-40 % free in my
- two systems). It might be this that makes the program prone to random
- crashes and weird behavior. As a comparison, Word for Windows 2.0
- leaves 70 % free system resources. Even the WP File Manager consumes
- surprisingly large slices of the resources. Also, I have had to
- increase the DPMI_MEMORY_LIMIT to 4 MB in order to avoid the "not
- enough memory" messages with WP 5.2. BTW, in plain vanilla Windows
- 3.1, WP 5.2 fW doesn't appear to use much more system resources than
- other programs, memory usage is quite heavy, however. Is it the Win
- 3.0 code in OS/2 2.0 that WP 5.2 is not comfortable with?
-
- I remeber reading from somewhere that when free system resources go
- down to 30s and below, Windows tends to get unstable? Is it so?
