- I would like to hear opinnions about the word processor of choice for OS/2.
-
- My problem is this: I've been using Word for Windows 2.0 and Word 5.5 for
- DOS but, since Microsoft has (or has it?) decided that it won't support
- OS/2, I have to switch to another program. I wouldn't like to get stuck in
- a dead end (to paraphrase BG). I know a few other people who are in the
- same position - even people who are not themselves using OS/2 seem to feel
- that they would rather use an "universal" word processor instead of one
- which is, by choice, not supporting one of the major platforms. This is
- really sad because generally I have liked the WORDs.
-
- At first glance WP 5.2 for windows didn't seem to be very hot for an OS/2
- user. Describe might be a good one but their marketing strategy does
- not appeal to me (they don't offer a competetive upgrade, but instead
- graciously invite me to evaluate Describe 4.0 for $400 (!) (and this is
- educational institute pricing). Ami pro might be good but I haven't got
- any personal experience with it.
-
- So netters, where to go word processor-wise? (for writing biomedical
- scientific papers, correspondence etc.).
