- Hello,
-
- I have just purchased the Sytos Plus 1.36 for OS/2 2.0 to be used with the
- Jumbo 250 system. The system has previously functioned flawlessly under DOS
- but I can't get it to work under OS/2 2.0 + Sytos combination. I had partial
- success using CP Backup 7.1 but the backups took a very long time and were
- frequently unreliable.
-
- I called both Sytos and Colorado earlier today but I wasn't really given
- any solutions other than "you have to figure out what your floppy address and
- interrupt levels are". Well, I used a default installation procedure which
- installed the appropriate driver in the CONFIG.SYS of which I am informed
- during the boot up process. The software has set itself up to function with
- DMA set to 2, IRQ to 6 and address of 3F0 h which are the specified default
- values listed in the manual.
-
- Using PC Tools System Info 7.1 utility, I obtained the following
- information about the floppy disk: IRQ of 6 and address of F000:EF57. Keeping
- the address set to 3F0 h I checked *all* of the other DMA channels and *all*
- of the other IRQs listed in the Set Up Backup Device window at which point I
- have ran out of ideas :(
-
- My system is Micronics i486 EISA, 33 MHz, OS/2 2.0 with Service Pak, Jumbo
- 250, and what looks like a cheap Taiwanese floppy/hard disk controller which
- however thus far gave me no problems whatsoever. I would really appreciate it,
- if someone could tell me how to get this up and running as I am really
- dependent on this device.
-
- Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.
