- Wang's Form Editor, which is part of Lan Recognition Server for
- OPEN/image, does what you are describing. This is a pretty
- common need for forms processing.

- Our implementation lets the user draw rectangles around areas
- that are expected to have data in them. Then, at recognition
- time, these rectangles are used when looking at parts of the
- image for OCR.

- Our implementation was pretty easy because we used the O/i IDK.
- I looked around to see if there was anything available as
- freeware or shareware, and if there was anything that we could
- license, instead of developing it from the ground up. I didn't
- find anything that would fill our needs.
