- Here is an EXCEL/NOVELL problem hopefully someone knows the answer to.
-
- Whenever the current EXCEL spread sheet is saved a backup copy is made. The
- data files are on a Novell file server. The problem is that the back-up file
- is given a unique alphanumeric name like 36cf8e. This means
- that the backup files accumulate and fill up the disk.
-
- Microsoft say's that EXCEL backup files are always called xxxxx.BAK and
- wasn't much help. Something appears to be turned on somewhere to cause
- this backup file creation with the encryted name.
-
- Does anyone know what is turned on and how to turn it off. Thanks.
