- A few days ago, in <1993Jan20.063451.28377@data-io.com>, I asked the net
- the following question:
- >
- > I'm looking for a TrueType equivalent for the Palatino type face.
-
- I've received several answers, some posted to c.o.m-w.m, some by e-mail.
- Here's a summary of what I've received:
-
- Suggestion: Don't worry about having a display font for Palatino
- because your printer has Palatino as a resident font, so your document
- will print just fine.
-
- My response: I considered this option, in fact I've been doing
- this for a few weeks. But I've gotten tired of using WYSIWYG
- software in a non-WYSIWYG mode, which is what happens if you
- don't have a good display font for Palatino. And that's why I
- want a display font that resembles Palatino.
-
- Suggestion: Use the Microsoft TrueType font Book Antiqua, which comes
- as part of the TrueType Font Pack for Windows and as part of Powerpoint
- for Windows.
-
- My response: I tried Book Antiqua and am very happy with it.
-
- Suggestion: Purchase Atech FastFonts, which includes a Palatino clone
- called Palomar. Fast Fonts can be converted to TrueType, which would
- give you what you're looking for.
-
- My response: I already have the Book Antiqua font, so I don't
- need to purchase a font handler/converter.
-
- Nobody knew of any PD or shareware equivalents for Palatino.
-
-
- Thanks to all who responded. I appreciate your suggestions.

- jewell@Data-IO.COM Maybe a badge or a pin or a coffee mug or...naw,
- ...!pilchuck!jewell I thought not.
