- I'm running Win3.1/DOS 5.0 on a 486/33 w/20Mb. I run WideAngle to give
- me multiple windows. I usually run two DOS sessions in windows.
-
- Occasionally, I will attempt to access a floppy which is not in the
- drive or is not formatted. When this happens, DOS issues its Abort, Fail,
- Retry and the DOS window becomes full screen. At this point, no matter
- what I reply, or whether I insert a disk in the drive, Windows is hosed.
-
- If I hit Alt-Enter, the DOS window is not minimized. If I Ctl-Alt-Delete,
- Windows will display its screen, sometimes with DOS as the active task,
- sometimes with the screen saver I use (Fish). If I respond OK to kill the
- task, nothing happens or the screen goes blank. Occasionally, I have to
- Ctl-Alt-Del to restart, more often, Windows disappears and the system reboots.
-
- Does anyone have a clue? Does this happen on other systems?
