  44. I apologize if I overreacted.  It seems that so often I see a reply
  45. posted that is esentially useless, i.e., "You want to do _what_ under
  46. DOS?  Why don't you switch to Unix.", or "It's easy to write
  47. yourself.", with nothing more.  (If the poster knew how to write a
  48. short utility, he/she probably wouldn't ask about it.) These are not
  49. generally helpful responses and I'm afraid I saw one more than I could
  50. handle.
