  12. Has anybody actually done tests on the speed of optimized code put out
  13. by gcc vs. commercial compilers?  Would anybody care to comment?

  15. I am interested in buying a compiler, but if gcc puts out production
  16. quality code, I won't buy one, since I am only interested in command
  17. line compiling optimized code.
