- Hi,
-
- Has anyone been able to get the Intel Satisfaxtion 400 modem (the internal
- one) working in Linux? I know it's not supposed to work because of the need
- to load the DOS device driver first to initialise the modem. I am asking
- because I found out that once the driver is loaded in DOS, you can actually
- reboot (warm instead of cold) your machine and use the modem in DOS without
- loading the driver again (I have tested this many times). So I assume maybe
- the driver stays resident in the modem during the warm reboot. However, I've
- not been successful to do this in Linux (i.e. booting DOS to load the driver
- and then warm boot to load Linux). My 400 is configured as com2. After Linux
- boots, it doesn't seem to recognize the presence of com2 at all. Has anyone
- got a way round this? I'd love to use my modem under Linux instead of DOS.
-
- Thanks.
-
- Paul.
