  16. I saw the follow question several times recently:

  18.     I use SLS 0.99.2.  I noticed that I can't use ps because
  19.     the proc device is not mounted.
  20.     How cat I fix this problem?

  22. It is a faq, but it does not appear in the current Linux faq.
  23. I got the same problem, too. It turned out that I commented out
  24. the line:
  25.     none /proc proc defaults
  26. in the /etc/fstab by mistake.

  28.     Would you please add it to the Linux FAQ list and
  29. the manual pages of "ps", "free", "uptime" etc. ? 
  30. (I think these are two sources that people would look at
  31. first when they get the error message).
