- Hi Linux-world!
-
- I'm looking for a working version of rlogin and the talk stuff.
- Currently the last rlogin and talk/talkd from SLS are lying brake
- on my HD. rsh works fine in and out of my Linux-box. rlogin works
- into it, but I don't get out (rlogin: connection closed). I DO have
- a .rhost file (otherwise rsh would have complained). Someone out there
- got it working??
-
- Then there is the talk/talkd. Talk gives me a "[No connection yet]" (quite
- normal), then
- : [Checking for invitation on caller's machine]
- : Alarm clock
- And that's it. No ring on the other machine.
- When someone tries to get into my machine, there is no
- alarm clock (might be a local configuration) and nothing happens. My inetd.conf
- file looks like
-
- telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/inet/telnetd telnetd
- ntalk dgram udp wait root /usr/etc/inet/ntalkd ntalkd
- ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/inet/ftpd ftpd -l
- finger stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/inet/fingerd finger
- shell stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/inet/rshd rshd
- login stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/inet/rlogind rlogind
- tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/etc/inet/tftpd tftpd
- talk dgram udp wait root /usr/etc/inet/talkd talkd
-
- Some hints??
-
- Cheers,
- Hank.
