- WAMPES NOS (ucsd.edu:/pub/hamradio/tcpip/wampes/wampes-921129.tar.Z, or
- something along those lines) works under current Linux kernels, does SLIP,
- and even interfaces to a limited extent with kernel TCP/IP. The
- documentation leaves something to be desired, but that's normal for
- KA9Q-based packages. :-)

- The KA9Q .7 package should also work with the current kernel, as long as you
- don't try to attach an Ethernet card. (Don't install the kernel patches,
- either. If all you're doing is SLIP, there's no point in it.) For SLIP it
- should be okay, if a bit daft (read: out of date).

- Kernel TCP/IP doesn't do SLIP. There is a SLIP driver under development,
- but it's being kept under close wraps because too many people insisted on
- treating the pre-alpha driver as finished code and then wondering why their
- systems kept dying....
