- Hi Thomas!
-
- Tuesday January 19 1993 09:35, Thomas Koenig an All:
-
- TK> At the moment, I use a somewhat laborious route to print my TeX
- output:
- TK> I run my dvi files through dvips, the resulting postscript files
- through
- TK> Ghostscript with DeskJet 500 output to a file, then finally I cat
- that
- TK> file to /dev/lp1. (No, I have not installed a printer daemon
- yet).
-
- You didn't write your parameters to dvips, gs and cat.
- I discovered, that the device djet500 in gs is broken, but if you use
- the device deskjet, printing will be ok.
-
- I think also you should install a printer daemon, so you can call gs
- as a filter from the daemon. On some Linux-Systems we have a printcap
- wich can distinguish between PS-Files and Text-Files, so you can print
- via lpr <file> both.
-
- Bye,
- Ulf
