  12. I have a quick question that I can't seem to address in the FAQ:

  14. What is required to achieve more than 256 colors under X?  I guess the
  15. first question should be:  Is it possible using the XFree version of
  16. X?  And the second should be:  What do I need to do to convince it to
  17. take full advantage of my card / monitor (which can handle some 16.7
  18. million colors at 1024 x 768)?

  20. If this is a commonly addressed subject, please send me email along with
  21. a pointer to where I should research.
