- I have been working on my linux system for some time, and I must admit that
- even without xwindows it has been usefull to me, but now I am having some
- problems.
-
- I believe that I am working with version 0.99.3, I upgraded from a much
- earlier version. I also upgraded GCC to the latest version. Now whenever
- I run anything, including gcc I get
- Warning: (fill in application) using old stat() call. Recompile binary.
- How can I fix this short of grabbing everything again? If I should grab it
- all again, what should I grab (SLS?)?
-
- Before this upgrade, I did manage to get X11 working in the lowest video mode
- available in the XConfig, now it isn't working with anything. I was curios why
- I couldn't do better than ega level display when I have a SpeedSTAR 24 video
- controller (It is supossed to be et4000) and a Taxtan Multivision 550 (It
- thinks the monitor is the GATEWAY CS1572FS monitor in DOS. I have horizontal
- and veritcal frequencies of
- 1024x768 mode: 57.5 Khz/72.0Hz (-hsync/+vsync) non-interlaced
- 1280x1024 mode: 48.9 Khz/43.5 Hz (+hsync/+vsync) interlaced
-
- Does anyone know what to do with the sync frequencies?
-
- I have been looking in FAQ's and talking to friends and am still perplexed.
-
- Please help.
