-
- First off, XS3 != X386. Please do not mess this up. X386 migrated into
- a commercial product, and hance has nothing to do with XS3.
- Furthermore, X386 1.3 does support also S3 newest baby, the 928. From
- what I can tell waiting for the 928 boards to ve is definitvely
- worth the time. They will be not as cheap as the 801 based things, but
- at higher resolutions much faster. And don't forget, the 801 can only
- do 8bpp and 16bpp. The 928 will also do 32bpp if you have a driver for
- it.

- From benchmar done here, the 1280VA is substantially slower then
- the GraphicsEngine32. Under MS-Windows the benchmarks don't make this
- obviouse, since much of MS_Windows performance is related to copy a
- Pixmap to the Screen type of operations. There both cards are at about
- the same speed. Under X-Window, you'll see the difference in real
- drawing speed. Another good 801 card would be the STB PowerGraph X-24.

- Oh, BTW, I finally found out what the 801/805 has to do with Porsches:
-
- 8 + 0 + 1 = 9
- 8 + 0 + 5 = 13
