  20. First off, XS3 != X386. Please do not mess this up. X386 migrated into
  21. a commercial product, and hance has nothing to do with XS3.
  22. Furthermore, X386 1.3 does support also S3 newest baby, the 928. From
  23. what I can tell waiting for the 928 boards to ve is definitvely
  24. worth the time. They will be not as cheap as the 801 based things, but
  25. at higher resolutions much faster. And don't forget, the 801 can only
  26. do 8bpp and 16bpp. The 928 will also do 32bpp if you have a driver for
  27. it.

  32. From benchmar done here, the 1280VA is substantially slower then
  33. the GraphicsEngine32. Under MS-Windows the benchmarks don't make this
  34. obviouse, since much of MS_Windows performance is related to copy a
  35. Pixmap to the Screen type of operations. There both cards are at about
  36. the same speed. Under X-Window, you'll see the difference in real
  37. drawing speed. Another good 801 card would be the STB PowerGraph X-24.
