- Although the Oak chipset is not supported in the current X release it
- works ok at 800x600x2 with vga2 generic in Xconfig. I have a 20MHz
- Elonex PC-320X running X386mono under Linux SLS 0.98p4 ok with this
- setup:
-
- vga2
- Clocks 25 28 65 45 14 18 40 36
- VideoRam 512
- Modes "800x600"
-
- ModeDB
- "800x600" 28 800 800 900 912 600 601 603 625
-
- I could only get a stable 800x600 display with the 28MHz clock, but
- 800x600 is very close to the edge of the screen with this clock. I
- tried just about every method of calculating the ModeDB values using
- info from the Oak data sheet (sc, xclk and so on) but I'm using a
- 'triple-sync' monitor (cf. multi-sync) and it didn't work at 36MHz.
-
- Elonex were very helpful in providing technical info on the Oak chips
- but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has a colour server with
- Oak support :-)
