- This and several other quotes I recall but didn't save basically say "don't
- bother with any safety features, with Unix you're SUPPOSED to jump out of
- the plane without a parachute". Which is the "hackers-only" attitude that
- is why (just as an example) all the Unix folks are running scared in the
- face of Windows NT, which I guarantee you will not have this problem.

- Moreover, quite frankly "Unix is semi-cryptic" is a flaw that should be
- fixed, that (I do hope!) is BEING fixed in the commercial Unixes, and that
- the Linux Doc Project is trying to fix for Linux. It is not a law of nature,
- and it *certainly* is not a Good Thing.

- This is what I took exception to. I do not argue the necessity of backups
- (in fact, I spend all too much of my time on the job arguing that with
- customers who think of it as a waste of time), and if you had stuck to that
- instead of throwing in the "hackers only, nyaah nyaah" sentiment I wouldn't
- have complained.
