- SCSI stands for Small Computer Systems Interface and is pronounced
- 'scuzzy'. SCSI is a spec for storage devices. You can daisy chain
- up to 8 devices in a SCSI chain. Each end of the chain requires a
- SCSI terminator. It is a high speed interface which is why samplers
- are now using it instead of MIDI for sampler transfers.
-
- It is fairly simple to hook up a SCSI device. You need the device
- and a cable and you may need a SCSI terminator if the device is
- not internally terminated.
-
- Prices for drives keep dropping all the time. 200Mbytes will be
- less than $1000, probably $600-700. Check the ads in Computer Shopper,
- MacWorld, MacUser, etc. for current prices.
