  12. They are positively ubiquitous, but I've never seen them offerred in
  13. any of the numerous catalogs that cross my desk.  Does anyone know if
  14. "generic" mag card readers and writers are available?  ie something
  15. that would hook up to a port on my machine along with a device driver to
  16. facilitate reading and writing?  I suppose this might provide an
  17. opportunity for fraud.  Is this why such equipment is hard to come by?
  18. If so, that would raise  some interesting questions.  Like: are there
  19. laws governing the sale of such equipment? ( I suspect not) Or  is it
  20. simply by tacit agreement that such stuff will not be widely distributed?
