- I've had the same problem. I tried to use sendmail with our generic
- sendmail.cf which we use on our Sequent Balance 8000 and all our
- HP9000/[78]?? machines, but got stuck on the rebuild of the aliasfile,
- it always complaint that the users weren't local to this machine.
- I suspect the shadow password routines are messing things up (we are
- running PTX 1.4.0).

-
- And so did we. We installed smail and tried to add add some MX records
- which point to our domain-mail-master, but this confused our
- domain-mail-master in such a way that I had to remove the MX records
- again. I now use a small shell script (with the queryprogram driver)
- as temporary solution.
-
- I know that this isn't the solution you were hoping for, but maybe
- this is a hint for the smail developpers that there may be something
- wrong with the bind driver.
