-
- The two-@ sign behaviour is an artifact of the way the gateway is
- implemented to allow one mail system on GEnie instead of two. The
- actual limitation on the length of addresses is 35 characters, and
- will be removed Real Soon Now. The same changes necessary to implement
- X.400 addressing will help fix this 35-character limitation.
-
- If you use the form on the INTERNET page (#207) there's no need to
- know about the @INET# added to the end - just indicate the proper
- domain address and it adds it on for you.
-
- The REPLY command doesn't work on any "foreign" mail. The Internet
- just happens to be the most common form of Inter-community mail. A
- tool such as the Aladdin products know how to spot Internet mail and
- correctly send it with the non-reply command.
-
- For those GEnie subscribers needing to send mail to far-away places
- such as Germany and Dayton Ohio, I have been creating shorthand aliases
- for those persons when made aware of the situation, typically through
- GEnie Feedback.
