  20. The two-@ sign behaviour is an artifact of the way the gateway is
  21. implemented to allow one mail system on GEnie instead of two.  The
  22. actual limitation on the length of addresses is 35 characters, and
  23. will be removed Real Soon Now.  The same changes necessary to implement
  24. X.400 addressing will help fix this 35-character limitation.

  26. If you use the form on the INTERNET page (#207) there's no need to
  27. know about the @INET# added to the end - just indicate the proper
  28. domain address and it adds it on for you.

  30. The REPLY command doesn't work on any "foreign" mail.  The Internet
  31. just happens to be the most common form of Inter-community mail.  A 
  32. tool such as the Aladdin products know how to spot Internet mail and
  33. correctly send it with the non-reply command.

  35. For those GEnie subscribers needing to send mail to far-away places
  36. such as Germany and Dayton Ohio, I have been creating shorthand aliases
  37. for those persons when made aware of the situation, typically through
  38. GEnie Feedback.
