- For organising conference and advertising our courses I have to create
- mailshot lists from accumulated email, and I'd like to find a cleaner
- way of doing it. The accumulated email comes from various people with
- various systems (mail, MH, Poplog) and often involves duplicates.
-
- What I've been doing is:
-
- * extract the From: lines with fgrep
- * isolate the addresses using emacs keyboard macros
- * remove spaces with emacs
- * change everything to lower case
- * remove duplicate addresses using uniq
- * sort using sort
-
- Does anyone have any scripts etc. which do a clean job?
-
- PLease email me direct as well as posting to the net.
-
- Thanks,
-
- Donald Peterson.
